Top 10 Kids’ Birthday Parties in Budapest, Part V

All aboard! Last but not least, two very unusual birthday party venues…

9. The Children’s Railway: Take a ride on this railway run by kids! This is fun anytime, but you can also rent a whole railway car (adorably called “saloon carriages” on the website) for your child and friends for a party! Climb in and tag along with a regular train that makes the one-hour round trip back to Hűvösvölgy station. If you want to extend the party, they will “park” your car at Szechényi-hegy station, which has two playgrounds nearby, and you can have cake in the train car! Click here for more information, in English, hooray!  http://www.gyermekvasut.hu/english/page.php?35

 10. Tropicarium: This isn’t any old aquarium. It’s got a tropical rainforest with thunder and real rain that falls onto alligators every 15 minutes! Plus creepy crawlies like spiders, scorpions and piranhas, and cute chameleons… I could go on and on, or you could just have a birthday party there, where they offer a three-hour experience you and your child will never forget. Your group will get an exclusive chance to pet and feed the animals, touring the facilities (including normally off-limits areas!) with a professional who will ask and answer all kinds of fun and funny questions about the animals. There’s still time for cake and gifts in their party room. The details about birthday parties are not on www.tropicarium.hu in English, but you can email matrai@tropicarium.hu to reserve or find out more!

That’s all for this week’s Top 10 list, folks! Stay tuned for more Budapest tips (and maybe trials) next week!

About adriknows

One day, people looking for tips on life in Budapest started coming to me. Friends, then friends of friends, and so on. People were telling newcomers and longtime Budapesters alike, “Adri knows!” Now it’s time to share what I’ve picked up over more than a decade of fun-and-frequently-frazzled family life in the big BP.
